A Full Life of the Mind

Currently: Sitting at the kitchen table at my dad's house in Idaho, the tv as my background noise, and multiple feet of snow out the window as my view. Yup, this is my life right now. And you know what? It's beautiful. As a child of divorce, the holidays are always full of stressful travel plans in order to see both of my wonderful families as much as I can and this year has been no different. As stressful as it can sometimes be, it's always so fun to see everyone and I honestly wouldn't change my crazy travel filled life for anything. But, this year was a little different because it was the first year in the last three that I actually had a job in the month of December. And as you all know, jobs can put a damper on plans especially when you have TWO families to see and they live on the opposite ends of two states (western Oregon and Eastern Idaho). As you guys must know by now, I  love social media. But today I got on and I saw picture after picture of beautiful girl. And, like everyone does sometimes, I started to compare myself. Well, if I just stopped caring so much about what people thought of me, I'd be that carefree. If I learned how to apply make up like her, I'd be that beautiful. If I had more money and more fashion sense, I'd be as cute as her. This got so bad that I put on make up when I was literally going no where today. I got in my car and started driving to Walmart to buy more make up and more cute clothes, even though I have minimal funds, because at that point in time, being the stereotypical beautiful was  that important to me. So here I am, after spending a half hour on my make up and hair, and changing multiple times, on the road to look like the girls on Instagram. And then I had a thought. YOU GUYS!!!!!! It's been a while!!! And so so much has happened. A lot of awesome things have happened so we shall begin the journey of going back in time the last few weeks of my life... ;) Ya ready? K I'll stop being a weirdo now. So I just checked when the last time I wrote an update post and it was when I WAS IN FOREST GROVE AND RIGBY OH MY GOSH. That's insane. So here we go. It's so much I'm just gonna post some pictures and write a few sentences and call it good :) Cause I gotta write a paper and go to work later. A while back I dragged my grandpa out to what my family calls "Ladd Canyon". This property has been in our family since the 1940's, belonging to my great grandfather (my grandpa actually lived in a house on this large piece of land when he was 6) and then to my great uncle. If you guys remember, this summer my great uncle got in a tragic 4-wheeling accident this summer and passed away soon after. No on in the family
